Support the Library
Who are the Friends?
The membership of the Friends of Sterling Municipal Library is composed of individuals who believe in the importance of books, reading, and libraries for people of every age. They share a common concern for the welfare of libraries in general and Baytown's public library in particular. Members agree that any community is a better place to live if it supports a first rate library.

What do they do?
Friends make significant gifts such as a public computer, microfilm reader-printer, print production equipment, microphone system, and projectors of all types. They sponsor programs including prominent author appearances, book reviews, exhibits, and National Library Week celebrations. The Friends have also granted scholarships to staff members who wish to improve their skill in serving the readers of our community. The expansion and renovation of the present library building was largely the result of the strong leadership and support of the Friends in the municipal capital improvements referendum.
