The City was able to receive a better service rate from another company to provide the same, if not better, trash service to residents. Waste Management’s offer would have increased rates, which would have increased your trash bill.

Guests may bring in one cooler per party, at no cost. Glass, knives, and alcohol are prohibited. All beverages must be factory sealed. Also no chairs, wagons, or carts may be brought in.
We ask that our Guests dress appropriately for our family environment. Clothing with offensive material, thong bikinis, or other revealing swimwear will not be permitted inside the park. Please refrain from displaying undergarments or wearing low-riding garments. Anyone entering the water or using a Water Park attraction must be attired in a swimsuit and/or rash guard. An appropriate swimsuit is defined as a swim garment with an affixed/sewn inner lining that is marketed and sold as a swimsuit. Inappropriate attire may damage our pumps, attractions, and chemicals. Gym shorts, cotton clothing, denim, and swim wear with zippers, buckles, or rivets are not permitted on Water Park attractions. Lifeguard gear or other insignia is not allowed for liability reasons
Children who wear diapers are required to wear a swim diaper and cover or swimsuit while in the water.
No outside inflatable flotation devices will be permitted (Tubes/Rafts/Water Wings/Etc.) This also includes baby or toddler rafts or floats and pool noodles. Lifejackets must be U.S Coast Guard approved, and should be worn by weak swimmers.
Calypso Cove will remain open during periods of rain. However, operations will be temporarily suspended if there is lightning or other severe weather conditions in the area. Attractions will re-open as soon as conditions permit. During heavy rain or storms some and/or all slides may be shut down temporarily for your safety. Absolutely no refunds on daily tickets unless Pirates Bay closes the park due to the weather then you can call and a team member will transfer your tickets to another day that has not yet been sold out.
Calypso Cove is a smoke-free environment. We ask that guests refrain from both smoking and vaping within the park and in our front gate area.
No outside tents, umbrellas, tables, chairs, wagons, or carts may be brought into the park.
No Animals. Animals of any kind (e.g., dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, lizards, snakes, pigs, hamsters, turtles, birds, tarantulas, rats, mice, monkeys, ferrets, mini-horses, etc.) are not allowed in the park, except for legally-defined service dogs or as may otherwise be required by law to assist those with disabilities (“disabilities” being defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act or other applicable laws). A “service animal” is defined by law, and not by a person’s personal desires. For example, a “companion” animal, or an animal that brings “emotional comfort,” or a dog, which serves as “personal security,” does not qualify as a legal “service animal.”
Admission is $5 per person Monday - Thursday and $7 Friday - Sunday. Any guests under the age of 3 is free.

Discharge of fireworks within the city limits of Baytown, or within 1,000 feet of the city limits, is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $2,000. Fireworks stands are located outside the enforcement zone, so any use of fireworks should take place even farther out.

Paramedic training includes approximately 700 hours of classroom education, 300 hours of in-hospital training and experience, and 700 hours of experience working on a medic unit.

BFD responds to far more than fires. The fire department responds to medical emergencies, hazardous materials responses and rescues and a variety of hazardous conditions. Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool (TMLIRP) is the City's insurance carrier. All liability claims are forwarded to TMLIRP by the City of Baytown’s Risk Management Division. Once your claim has been received, TMLIRP will assign an adjuster to handle your claim. The adjuster will contact you in a few business days.
You must complete a claim form and return it to the City's Risk Management Division. You should hear from our insurance adjuster within a few business days.
Once a claim form is received by Risk Management, we will open a claim with our insurance carrier, the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool (TMLIRP). If you do not hear from TMLIRP within 5 business days, you may contact them at 1-800-537-6655 or you may contact Risk Management at 281-420-5846.
No. Do not make repairs or incur other costs under the assumption that City will reimburse you when a claim is filed. Furthermore, you should not have repairs made or services performed and billed to the City. The City may settle a claim with you but it may not pay the costs of all the services that you ordered. The City also cannot approve a rental vehicle. That determination is made by Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool (TMLIRP). You may contact them at 1-800-537-6655 . It is our goal to address each claim as fairly and promptly as possible as we understand you may have been inconvenienced by this incident.
Depending on the complexity and the nature of your claim, it may take several days or weeks for the adjuster to conduct the investigation. An investigation may include a visit to the site for inspection and photographs, contact with the City Department or workers involved in the area or incident and follow up with you for additional information or documentation. Please allow a reasonable period of time to investigate and respond to your claim.
You will receive a written response to your claim from the assigned adjuster. Depending on the complexity and nature of your claim this may take several days or weeks. Should you have any questions or concerns about the results of their investigation or the status of your claim, please address these to the assigned adjuster or you may contact the Risk Management Division at 281-420-5846.
If your claim is valid and the City is legally obligated to pay, you will receive a letter advising you that your claim has been accepted. At this time the adjuster will advise you of the amount of the settlement and provide you with a Release of Claim Form. You must have your signature notarized and return the original Release to the assigned adjuster. Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool (TMLIRP) will send your settlement check.
If your claim is denied, you will receive a denial letter with an explanation of the reason(s) your claim was denied. There are situations where the City may not be responsible or obligated to pay your claim. For example, there may be another party responsible for the claim, a contractor may be doing work for the City and the contractor may be obligated to pay the claim.
The assigned adjuster will send you a claim acceptance letter with a Release of Claims Form which you must sign before a Notary Public and return the original to the adjuster. It may take several days after the receipt of your properly executed Release for the assigned adjuster to process your settlement check. Once you sign the Release and receive the settlement check your claim is concluded and is final.
Yes, the City often uses Independent Contractors and they may be responsible for damage they cause while performing work on behalf of the City. If an Independent Contractor is responsible for your damage, the assigned adjuster will provide you the name of the Independent Contractor.

Our volunteer program is run by semester. When you apply for a semester (Fall, Spring, Summer), you will be a volunteer until the end of that scheduled time period. This information is usually on the application. At the end of the semester, if you would like to continue volunteering with us, you can submit an application for the next semester of volunteering.
We understand that taking on extra work can be stressful, so just reach out to talk to us. We may be able to work with you if you need a slight break, or you can always apply for the next semester’s program. We do ask that you keep this in mind when you are applying, as we rely on the hard work of our volunteers.
A lot of people are working together to help make Sterling Municipal Library the welcoming place it is. The first time no-show without notice, the volunteer coordinator will reach out to you. If the problem continues, the position will end and we will not consider any new applications for 6 months.

As much as we would like to accommodate guests with food allergies, we are not the food manufacturers/suppliers (we get all food and beverage product from third parties), and as such, we regret to inform you that the park cannot, and does not, make any representations or guarantees regarding the allergy-free contents of any foods or beverages. At a minimum, guests with allergy concerns should avoid any foods or beverages unless they are packaged, and you are 100% confident in the manufacturer/supplier which has provided the Park with such food or beverage. The case must be submitted through a computerized system that checks for errors and routes the report to the appropriate division. Once the case arrives to the correct division, a supervisor must assign the case to a detective. Once the case is assigned, it is prioritized by the detective. If there is an error in the way the report was written or filed a delay is possible. If the detective is working weekends, nights, or hours outside of the time the case was assigned a delay is possible.

Remember this is a physical self-defense class so wear loose clothing or comfortable athletic clothing. Athletic shoes are recommended, no opened-toed shoes, sandals, or heels. No jewelry will be permitted during the physical aspect due to the chance of damage to the equipment.
Please be prepared to attend all 12 hours of the course. The 12-hour course sessions are usually divided in two 6-hours class, three 4-hour classes or four 3-hour classes. All class sessions builds on the next, therefore attendance is important. Space is limited, so only register if you can guarantee the time to attend.

Yes. The Utility Billing office sends a notice of non-payment in the form of a letter once the account is past due and at least eight days prior to the proposed termination date. The letter states the date by which payment must be made to avoid service interruption.
If you own the property, the deposit is $50.00 per unit. If you are renting or leasing, the deposit is $200.00 per unit. Business and commercial deposits are calculated based on comparable business use applied to current rates. There is also a $30.00 service fee per meter.

At any time authorized by Utility Billing prior to your payment due date. Once services have been disconnected, a payment arrangement is not available. All payment arrangements must meet eligibility requirements.
Once the funds are physically received in the Utility Billing office, which generally takes 1 to 3 days depending on the method used. We encourage you not to use these methods if you have received a delinquent disconnect notice.
When the account is closed, the deposit is applied toward payment of the final billing. Any credit balance is refunded to the customer by check after the final bill has been processed.
A leak can cause higher usage also seasonal usage such as lawn watering, children’s wading pools, filling pools, additional laundry, and washing automobiles. Also, a misread or defective meter can cause a high bill. Your options in case of a leak: Perform self leak test, request a meter reread ($10.00 charge), or request a meter test ($25.00 charge). We encourage you to notify us immediately.

With the implementation of Automated Meter Reading (AMR), readings are obtained electronically even if the meter box is full of water or has grass grown over it. The ProRead registers are sealed and transmit through a Meter Interface Unit (MIU) located in the meter box lid which picks up the readings emitted by radio frequency.
Residential sewer charges are based on the customer’s monthly water consumption with a cap of 12,000 gallons per month. Commercial sewer charges are based on the customer’s monthly water consumption with no cap.
Readings are obtained electronically with a special "drive-by" computer, which picks up the readings emitted by radio frequency through a Meter Interface Unit (MIU). Customers are billed in thousands of gallons so not all dials are used in calculating the bill. The last two digits on the right are dropped when entering the reading for billing, i.e. 547413 is read 6474. The previous reading is subtracted from the current reading to calculate the amount of water used between readings. The meter is read each month.
Yes. BAWA, Baytown Area Water Authority, tests for quality control 24 hours a day. They have 94 sampling points, per month, throughout the City of Baytown. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEW formerly TNRCC) also conducts tests periodically. BAWA was the fourth plant out of over 500 treatment plants in Texas to receive the Texas Optimization Program (TOP) status. BAWA goes above and beyond the minimum limits set by TCEQ.
