Ray Derrington is a proud lifelong resident of Liberty, Texas, where he has built a life filled with dedication, family, and community service. Ray's career in wastewater began with inspiration from his father’s mobile home park, leading him to earn his wastewater license. His first job in this field was at the Central District Wastewater plant for the City of Baytown. Today, he continues his work in the lab at the West District plant as an operator, contributing his many years of expertise to the City and fellow co-workers.
Beyond his professional life, Ray is passionate about gardening, bringing life and color to his surroundings with his green thumb. But perhaps his most unique and heartwarming passion is clowning. As a dedicated member of the Arabia Clown Jewels, he brings joy and laughter to those in need, regularly visiting the Galveston Shrine Hospital to brighten the days of young patients.
Outside of clowning around, Ray has been happily married for seventeen years to his lifelong sweetheart. With a deep love for his hometown, a commitment to his career, and a heart for service, Ray Derrington embodies the spirit of hard work, community, and joy. Thank you Ray for your 25 years of service!
