For her project, Madisyn looked at the process Health staff go through when filing liens for unpaid contractor abatement fees on properties that are out of compliance. As she Defined, Measured, and used 5 Why’s to Analyze the situation, she noticed that due to the turnover of property ownership, delay in appraisal district online system updates with new owner information and Health’s processing schedule, over 50 invoices per year were going unpaid. What a great place to start looking at how to make this process more efficient and cost effective!
